Happy Holidays From Writer Beware

Because even watchdogs have to rest sometimes, the Writer Beware blog will be taking a break over the holiday season. Unless there's a really juicy publishing story, we'll be on hiatus until the new year. (We'll still be answering email, so if you want to reach us, drop us a line at beware [at] sfwa.org).

Wishing all our wonderful readers and subscribers a happy, healthy, and peaceful holiday season--whatever kind of holidays you celebrate. See you in 2012!

Merry Christmas Victoria and Ann (A.C.)! Have a well-deserved holiday.

All that you do for writers is appreciated, at least by the honest ones. . .

2012 will be the better for having your blog in it! (Just like 2011.)

Anony-mice: not that you will have the courage to reply, let alone put your given name to it, but - have you burned any good books lately? Why does the Wrong Agenda, which you allege to be fair, unbiased, independent and unprejudiced (your words, creepo) endorse book-burning? How can we hope to "extinguish the flames of controversy" (your words again, natch) when you bozos are busy trying to burn everything?

Answers, please.

Meanwhile, back to the topic at hand. May 2012 be a damned good year for all who read and write.

I do not believe in burning books, it is so uncool. But when are you going to cover the juicy story about the WB Lawyer? Does he have an electric chair in house?

Hello, Anony-mice. Glad you agree. Glad you replied, even. After months of asking this question, you seem to have finally opted to make some form of intelligible answer.

So why did your website call for an annual burning of books?

First off, a belated Happy Holidays to the folks at Writer Beware! We all appreciate the hard work you do for writers everywhere! I hope you had a wonderful holiday season, and that 2012 is a much less exciting year for you. May you be bored to tears with the lack of publishing frauds and scams in the coming year(perhaps a Quixotic hope, but one I fervently wish for, for all our sakes).

And no holiday gathering is complete without the appearance of that one guest who tries to screw things up for everyone. Yes,it seems that "Nick Caruso" has popped his little TWA stringed sock-puppet head up, thinking that we're not going make the connection between your tasteless accusations on the WB Facebook page and here.

"Nick", there's a reason Writer Beware doesn't respond to your allegations about that issue. And you're not going to get one, because you're just beneath contempt and notice. Not sure when you're going to get that whenever you pop up and spout off about all this crap, people are laughing at you. We don't take you seriously. You have ZERO credibility here, and between the "book burning" issue, the lack of courage in posting your real name (I think that's because you're afraid people will find out that you are one of the people Writer Beware has already exposed as a fraud) and your noisy, Scientology style efforts at discrediting some of the most respected experts in the publishing industry, you're only convincing people to think that pretty much anything that comes out of your mouth is a lie or a misrepresentation of the truth.
